Care during the
dying proCess
When a loved one is dying, our staff members at the Good Samaritan Society:
Alert family membersto their loved one’s approaching death.
Provide comfort measures to the dying person.
Provide privacy
for the one dying and his or her family.
Offer chaplain services to help all involved in the dying process cope with
emotional and spiritual issues.
Provide spiritual care, such as actively
listening, reading the
Bible, sharing stories, praying
and singing.
Stay attentive to the moment and remain fully present,
physically and emotionally.
Answer family members’ questions
about physiological changes that happen with
death.
Ensure that those who are dying with no family present
are not alone.
