Gestational Diabetes affects us all...

Risks:10.4% US women diagnosed with GDM(out of 4 million births every year)Prevalence in Obese women and those of Asian and Hispanic heritage15% women affected globally

Consequences:$636M = costs of GDM in U.S.18% increase hospital delivery costs7x Increase in mothers developing Type II 2x Increased chance infants developing Type II

Although 10.4% of U.S. women are diagnosed with GDM, up to 30% are considered at-risk for developing GDM.

The Solution is MumCare Communities. We aim to empower women at-risk for GDM to exercise transformational lifestyle changes through doulas who facilitate access to life-enhancing community through non-clinical support services, accessible fitness programs, and affordable nutritional foods.

Doulas add transformative patient value.A Greek word meaning woman who serves, a DOULA assists a pregnant women by providing physical and non-clinical emotional support throughout ones pregnancy.

Doulas build community and provide non-clinical care that makes a clinical difference.

Doulas also provide: ACCESSIBILITY: By directly hiring doulas, Janssen provides coaches who are easily accessible in local communities.

AFFORDABILITY: By directly hiring doulas who visit pregnant women in the patients home, Janssen can forego huge infrastructure and capital costs.

ACCOUNTABILTY: Doula and community support encourage women to keep track of medical adherence, achieve ones fitness goals, and meet ones dietary requirements.

Online community augments REAL community.1. The MumCare website and digital app fills an educational and engagement gap for pregnant women at-risk for GDM.MumCare website & digital app* provide: Real time answers for questions about pregnancy, womens health, and the health of ones expected child.Access to emotional support and connection from doulas and community of pregnant women.Latest resources regarding GDM tests and health options, including other MumCare products. 2. Extending the Lactaid brand to include MumCare Milk provides increased revenues within community. Lactaid MumCare Milk provides: Lactose-free, skim milk with a special probiotic mixture that is known to help treat and/or prevent GDM.Additional royalty revenue by extending the Lactaid brand without new production facilities and capital costs.
