Suppliers are invited to submit their proposals, which are scored to assess price, assurance of supply, quality of service and other non-clinical considerations.

Physical samples are requested from suppliers for evaluation.

Experienced frontline clinicians and medication safety experts evaluate products based on CSHP labelling standards and ISMP safety recommendations.

Some of the product quality criteria we evaluate include:• Clarity of generic name & strength• Clear labelling• Lot number• Expiry date• Standardized GS1 barcode

Product quality makes up a greater percentage of the score than price.
