Introduction• First DHS in Afghanistan• Data collection: June 2015 – Feb 2016• Provincial estimates available for 33 out of 34 provinces • In Zabul province only 7 out of 30 cluster were surveyed• Households surveyed: 25,974• Response rate 98%

• Male interviewed: 11,778 • Response rate 91%

• Female interviewed: 30,404• Response rate 97%

Conclusion

• The result provided a comparable baseline for most of key health indicators • Significant improvement in health status• Detail result including indicators related to maternal mortality will be

released in 4 months time
