Dementia Friendly Communities

A dementia-friendly-community is a place where people living with dementia are supported to live a high quality of life with meaning, purpose and value.

It starts with you!

A dementia-friendly is a place where people living with dementia are supported to live a high quality of life with meaning, purpose and value. Making the changes toward a dementia-nation don’t have to be big changes.

Sometimes, it is the small changes that can make the biggest impact. It might be a change in the language that we use, talking with your staff about dementia, talking to your local MP about dementia, or keeping spaces clean and clear of clutter.

All of these things can have a positive impact on a person living with dementia.

What do dementia-friendly-communities look like? Some Australian examples – Beechworth, Vic; Kiama and Port Macquarie, NSW and Bribie Island, QLD
