The GoodTruth or Myth?• Can your lungs freeze in

extreme temperatures?• Myth!! The body has a

natural defense mechanism against cold weather that warms the air you breathe in before in enters the lungs.

• Are people who exercise less likely to catch a cold?• Truth!! People who

exercised at lease 5X a week had up to 46% fewer sick days than those who exercised 1 day.

The Bad“Ice Ice Baby”

• Do you burn more fat while exercising in colder weather?• No, in fact you burn more fat

and calories in the heat because your body has to work harder to cool itself than to heat itself.

• Why do our noses run faster than we do?• To keep the lungs from freezing

the nose warms and humidifies the air that you breathe. To do this, the nose produces mucus and what is left over is why your nose runs.
