About the workshop Location & time

Join peer healthcare leaders, innovators and designers for a one-day workshop to learn how to put the power of design thinking to work inside healthcare.

Led by design thinking and innovation leads from Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kaiser Permanente, the hands-on session will teach research techniques, empathy mapping, ideation and design prototyping.

You’ll use human-centered design processes in the wild in working collaboratively with peers to gain a deeper understanding of the design thinking process.

As part of the Delight Conference, you can add on the full conference pass (Sept 26-28), hear from 20+ speakers, and connect with hundreds of fellow design, business and technology leaders.

Matt works as an innovation catalyst at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, using design thinking to help people work with more skillfulness, effectiveness and delight. In a career that spans art, design and education, Matt has taught design leadership and innovation at institutions including RISD and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Alicia Popoff is the Director of Strategic Projects for Kaiser South Bay Medical Center, leading the medical group performance and innovation strategy. She has been intimately involved in supporting member growth initiatives, new member on-boarding efforts and readmission improvements. Alicia holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Ed managed web operations at the University of Maryland Medical System. Now he has moved into consultancy. Ed has worn many hats: programmer, designer, team manager, information architect, start-up participant, etc. But his current focus is on physician transparency. He is also active in #HCSM (health care social media community).
