Cycling Without Age Workshop - Wednesday 8th March 2017Generations Working Together
Stirling Management Centre
This is not the everyday format of the project.
From 15 mins to a couple of hours, volunteers take passengers as far away or as close to
home as they want to venture.
Copenhagen philosophy of everyone being able to live the ‘Good’ life
Giving their senior citizens the same access to the surroundings that they enjoy.
The story so far…June 2016Trip to Copenhagen, met the founders, gained licence.
July 2016Trishaws purchased, Chapter established, Development Grant secured.
August 2016Trishaws arrived, test riding round local path networks, featured at several promotional event raising awareness of project. Established Pilot Training Programme and tested it out on future pilots.
September 2016Met and confirmed Avondale Care Group as the first partner care home for the project. Visited both Carrondale and Glenbervie sites. Met with some staff in Carrondale to show them the Trishaw and toured facility to look at options official launch event.
The story so far…September 2016Continued test rides round the local area, more promotional events including Probus and Round Table talks. Secured insurance for the Trishaws and updated Public Liability cover.
October 2016Began creating promotional materials for Cycling Without Age Falkirk and initiated plans for Official Launch event. Attended Carrondale Relatives Meeting.
Winter 2016Complete training of pilots through Stages 1 and 2 of CWA Training Programme.
Test rides from Care Home with some residents to run through logistics.
