“When you’re a 12 year old fighting for your life, it is easy top feel alienated. That feeling disappears at Camp Soaring Eagle because you’re with kids just like you, with dreams that soar like eagles and camp leaders who are so intensely committed to helping you find your true spirit.

Many children with serious illnesses feel helpless. Their lives have been detoured and many of the things they want to do are controlled by Dr.’s, disrupted by illness, and often too expensive for their families to consider.

Summer camp is an opportunity for kids to learn they can exist outside the home without their parents taking care of every need all the time.

Camp gives them an opportunity for their Self Esteem to soar!

Currently there are more than 241,067 children in Arizona with special health care needs. Thanks to many highly trained medical professionals that volunteer, Camp Soaring Eagle is able to provide the following illness specific camps.

Kids are really living in planned landscapes now. Our museums, aquariums, parks and entertainment centers seek to replicate what nature has already provided for us. There are exciting places to explore at camp, and you can lose yourself a little bit in the fun and adventure.

Because Camp Soaring Eagle creates a safe environment for kids battling serious illness, they can enjoy all the natural amenities regular kids enjoy at camp. From Fishing to arts and crafts, they get the gift of childhood like nature intended.

Being in proximity with nature can have amazing therapeutic effects on people. Just reflect for a moment on one of the amazing memories you have from nature.

Camp Outreach brings the playful spirit of camping to children who are in the hospital.

In partnership with Cardon Children’s Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Camp Outreach brings fun, laughter and non-traditional therapeutic activities, to distract them from their unpleasant and often frightening therapies.

Camp Outreach works collaboratively with Child Life Specialists to enhance and support existing therapies focused on improving quality of life during a child’s treatment.

Like all programs under the Camp Soaring Eagle banner, outreach is provided free of charge to the children and their families but is only sustainable through financial contributions from the community.
