World White Cane Safety Day 2011observation

Rally was started from the Officer’s Club Satkhira

Objective of the dayCreation of awareness to the mass people

about the rights of blind and visually impaired people,

and ensure the protection during their movement and live in the community.

World White Cane Safety day celebration is the main weapon of the United Nation to make people aware of the worldwide about the

blind and visually impairment of their rights and protection. Every year Bangladesh observes the day together with the global community along with public and private sector of the country .

Rishilpi Observed the day on 15, October 2011 in collaboration of Local administration of Government of Bangladesh.

Focusing the theme of the day a rally was marched to different road of the town and end the rally at Upazilla Auditorium. Additional

District Magistrate Mr. Sheikh Hamim Hasan was the chief guest of the programme and he led the rally while Acting UNO Mr. Alamgir Hossainwas the special guest of the programme. Rishilpi’s Social Welfare Unit Supervisor Mr. Louis Pandey represented the Rishilpi in the rally and

discussion meeting with a 10 members team from Health and Education Programme. Mr. Deen Islam ( a visually impaired persons)

took part the discussion meeting on behalf of Rishilpi.Total number of 300 people atteded the rally with a good number of

visually impaired people

Rally marched the Satkhira town led by Additional District Magistrate Mr. Sheikh Hamim Hasan. Deputy Didector of Social Services Mr.

Mustazur Rahman and other officers took part the rally
