Use social media to make your presence known

Social Media• Social media is a great tool to promote and market
your practice in today’s world• It helps you connect with your stakeholders, patients,
fellow physicians and allows you to stay updated with the latest buzz in the industry
• Gone are the days when physicians thought they were great at their work, research studies, sophisticated EHR software, patient-first philosophy and thinking that they will be busy all day
Social Media
• Spread the word– You need to do your marketing yourself in order to
establish a client base– The most effective way to get new clients on your doorstep
is through networking– You can start visiting other physician’s offices who work
around you, introduce yourself to them, hand out business cards and any marketing/promotional material in order to get your name out there
– Additionally, keep attending healthcare events, conferences, charity events and business events
Social Media
• Use social media– Social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter
are a great help– They have almost become part of people’s daily routines
and serve as means by which they keep track of their friends’ and family’s live
– You can also have your Facebook account linked to your Twitter account so you won’t have to post everything twice
– If you come across something newsworthy or something which you think will interest your audience, share it on your personal or business social media pages
Social Media• Be careful of what you share – Make sure you don’t come across as absurd or obnoxious – If your website, Facebook or Twitter posts are going to be
all about promoting your practice only, no one is going to be interested in following your posts
– You should spread awareness about the latest developments in healthcare, or any wellness tips that might be helpful for mitigating health concerns
– Making your patients aware of your services is an important step towards bringing them to your practice
– Educating a patient about the benefits of a particular product or service will have more impact than “selling” it to them
Social Media
• Other than Facebook and Twitter, YouTube is another great avenue from which you can drive new business towards your practice
• You can include educational lectures, patient testimonials and real time patient treatment videos
• Many people choose their physician after watching their treatment videos online
