Introduction :

Many patients suffer from dentally related problems such as missing or deficient teeth, disorganized dental arches, or unacceptable tooth contour .

dental clinicians commonly encounter situations were alteration in tooth contour is indicated.

Prosthodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of the oral function, comfort, appearance and health of these patients .

REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURE (RPD):Advantages :1. more economical .2. replace multiple teeth with one appliance.3. Conservative of teeth.Disadvantages:1. not be as esthetic as a bridge2. some discomfort with wearing 3. not as stable as a bridge.

Fixed partial denture(FPD):Advantages :1. Stable.2. More aesthetic .3. feels like natural teeth .Disadvantages:1. Expensive.2. Teeth preparation.

Lose of teeth can be a very serious matter.Not only affect your ability to chew and diminish

your smile.can be a source of infection.A lose tooth almost always needs to be treated by a

dentist .Fortunately, your dentist has many ways to save

teeth .even if a tooth is lost, several acceptable options to

replace it(dental implants, permanent bridges, or removable partial or full dentures).
