Everyone knows about the benefits of regular brushing of teeth and most do it at least once a day! But flossing is just as important to the health and well-being of one’s pearly whites.

Most people have never heard of flossing or what advantages it holds. Even those who are aware of it don’t know about all the benefits or are too lazy to floss daily because they don’t know how to do it properly. Some also find flossing slightly uncomfortable.

Brushing teeth removes food particles from the surface areas of teeth, but to remove food and bacteria build-up from in-between teeth, flossing is essential. It’s also important to floss at least once a day.

This would save a lot of money and trouble in the long-term, as certain complicated dental procedures are quite costly.

“Prevention is better than cure” and proper oral hygienic practices would prevent the maladies and afflictions which may occur over time as a result of negligence.

Benefits Dental floss removes food particles and other debris

which may have got stuck between teeth. If left in their nooks and crevices, these food particles can rot, resulting in plaque and bacterial build-up as well as unsightly looking teeth. It could lead to tooth decay and cavities, bad breath and gum disease. Untreated gum disease increases a person’s risk  for heart disease, diabetes, and a high body mass index.

Flossing is a good way to improve the appearance of one’s mouth and teeth as well as one’s dental hygiene and overall health.
