The transition from film reels to digital film

Advantages • Audiences-• Audiences could enjoy a smoother

production • Films can be seen as more realistic • Allows other techniques to be used

such as special effects providing escapism

authenticity of reels/analogue footage.

• Institutions- • Most distributors/exhibitors

prefer digital footage- if filmed in an analogue style, this would have to be transferred.
