PDHPE encourages students to develop a positive attitude towards a healthy

lifestyle.

Students will;• Develop self-efficacy and a sense of value for themselves

and others.• Develop a healthy attitude towards physical activity and the

benefits of an active lifestyle.• Develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and others

and make informed decisions.

Why teach PDHPE?• Teaching PDHPE in primary schools is very important

as it allows for children to develop healthy behaviours from an early age that can be used throughout their life.

• Further, teaching PDHPE can provide children with the capacity to make informed decisions regarding their own health and lifestyle.
