Questions You Should Ask a Hearing Aid Specialist
To choose the right hearing aid specialist,
there are several questions you need to
ask. Here are those questions.
Do you sell a wide variety of products?
The specialist you choose must sell a wide variety of
hearing aids like inside the ear canal, behind the ear with ear mold and so on. This way, you will get a better chance
to know what kind can work best for you.
What type of testing do you do?
Make sure the audiologist you choose for your service does an
extensive hearing assessment in a
soundproof booth for determining the degree, type
and dimension of the hearing loss.
The hearing aid specialist must
also do a follow-up test when you are wearing the
device in order to determine how
well it’s working in different simulated
conditions.
Will I Get A Copy Of Test Results?
You must ask your specialist if they can give you a copy of the test results. That way, if you don’t like working with that specialist, you will not have to undergo another assessment
when choosing another professional.
Do You Charge A Separate Fee For Fitting?
Audiologists generally do not charge any separate fee for fitting a new hearing aid for first time in the ear of the patient. But there are many
dispensers that take an extra fee for fitting the hearing aid.
How Frequently Will I Be Able To Come For Adjustments?
The best answer would be ‘as many
times as you need’. If that’s not the answer,
at least make sure you are able to pay 2-
3 visits after the fitting has been made
initially.
