Global Brigades (GB) is a secular, 501c3 nonprofit organization that empowers university students and professionals to provide communities in developing countries with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture and improving the environment.

In 2008, more than 2,000 volunteers from 100 of our university clubs participated on a BRIGADE to provide health and community development solutions to more than 50,000 beneficiaries in Central America, Ghana, India and Vietnam.

Public Health Education

Preventive health services education programs are designed to enhance the patient's self-awareness and responsibility toward developing and maintaining healthier lifestyles. These programs provide education to help patients understand the role they play in their health and wellness.

“Education is a social process…Education is growth…Education is, not a preparation for life; education is life itself.”

– John Dewey

Each medical brigade station has laptops where patient information is entered and routed via a local server to the next station. Records are ultimately stored for follow up and to track patient history and studied to discover health trends in the villages we serve
