IntroductionTranscr ipt ion is an i m p o r t a n t p ro c e s s during the expression of the DNA

Some studies try to create a vaccine to prevent from virus for example from coxsackievirus

Long noncoding RNA found to quell inflammation

A long noncoding RNA is responsible for regulating the innate immunity and i s v e r y c a r e f u l l y regulated

Found in

Microphages

Long noncoding RNA found to quell inflammation

Researches study this RNA using a mouse model lacking of lincRNA-EPS

Long noncoding RNA found to quell inflammation

This RNA can provide information about Lupus and inflammatory bowel disease

quell inflammation

Student`s observation

I think this discovery is important because it can led to the understanding of a several pathologies related with the immune system and inflammatory processes, providing the best way to treat them so they won`t be more a difficulty like nowadays

Biochemists feed “poison pill” to deadly virus

The RNA polymerase is the enzyme implicated in making the copies of the virus

Biochemists feed “poison pill” to deadly virus

Researchers are creating a vaccine with change of an aminoacid in the RNA polymerase (phe tyr) to minimize the chances of an infection produced by the vaccine

The enzyme will make l o w e r m u t a t i o n s , reducing the capacity of the virus to replicate and cause illness that will cause a self-destruction

“Genetic poison pill”

Biochemists feed “poison pill” to deadly virus

This poison pill could also be effective with those RNA viruses linked with asthma a n d f o o t - a n d - m o u t h disease

Student`s observation

I think this investigation is important because it can provide a mechanism of protection to certain viruses that produce deseases that in some cases can be lethal

Medical Utility

Page 16: Plegable Biomol Mateo Torres

Medical Utility

Both researches are trying to find the way to prevent diseases cause either by a type of RNA or for viruses

Page 17: Plegable Biomol Mateo Torres

Medical Utility

Even though the investigations are looking for something specific, they can also give a lot of information about other diseases that can be illustrated with further investigations about it

Page 18: Plegable Biomol Mateo Torres

Medical Utility

Through the understanding of the process behind the inflammatory diseases caused by uncontrolled immune responses like lupus the researchers can find a better way to treat it
