JOHNSON & JOHNSON
J&J’s Facebook page features babies right up at the top of the page and focuses mostly on beauty products, but it also has posts about health care (e.g., diabetes), and corporate issues. It responds to viewers queries such as why cotton swabs were discontinued in the U.S.
It includes a summary of “community guidelines” as well as a link to J&J’s “full social media community guidelines.”

NOVO NORDISKNovo’s Facebook page features the #KnowYourRisk Twitter hashtag in the cover photo.
This hashtag was submitted to Symplur by @THEdeedeebg, whoever that is.
The hashtag is used by Novo and patients organizations in support of World Diabetes Day, which was first introduced in 1991 to raise awareness about diabetes.

BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM
BI’s Facebook currently features awareness of IPF.
“In 2017,” says a post, “we’re continuing our commitment to raising awareness of the rare and serious lung disease #IPF, or idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Get involved – share these stats to inform others.”
Like Novo Nordisk and other pharma companies, BI promotes a Twitter campaign via a hashtag, which is used by other organizations such as a charity to raise money for respiratory research.

PFIZER
Pfizer’s Facebook features a silent video about “a medical device that looks like a video game” and claims it “could detect early signs of Alzheimer’s disease.”
The video game is called Project Evo and was developed by Akilito treat cognitive conditions, including ADHD and Alzheimers(http://sco.lt/7iSFhx).

GSK
GSK’s Facebook features Flumoji, an Android app being tested by MIT and GSK to see if it can speed up identification of flu outbreaks.
“Real-time tracking of seasonal flu outbreaks is key,” says GSK. “However, researchers have yet to find a tracking mechanism that’s fast and reliable enough to support testing of potential #flu treatments in clinical trials.”
GSK uses the #Flumoji hashtagto promote this via Twitter as well.
