Who is he?He is a a writer and a Catalan poet.

He was a bishop in Brazil. He has lived there since 1968.

He has always been a defender of human rights

Defender of Human Rights

Pere Casalsdàliga is an important man that has always defended the rights of the poor. He has always helped the poor people and criticized the attitudes of wealthy people.

Even though he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease he still helps the poor people.

He has been faithful to his work. He understands that a bishop is married to the diocese. That’s why he never has left Brazil even though he is retired.

He tried to spread the word by helping all the poor people.

Commitment

As a consequence of helping the poor people he has faced death many times.

He explains that he could have been murdered many times, but he is not afraid because he is doing the right thing… helping the ones who are needed.

WHO IS HE?He was born in La Pobla de

Segur, Catalonia in 1978.He’s a Catalan football

player and he has played in the FC Barcelona first team since 1999.

He has played in all the Barça’s youth teams.

Nowadays he has been the captain of Barça since 2003.

Carles Puyol is an example of commitment to his job, his companions and of course with his club, FC Barcelona. He has had a lot of offers from other clubs, but he never left FC Barcelona.

COMMITMENT

He is also an example of effort. He has always been there when the team have needed him. In every match he gives the best of himself and he’s always ready to compete at the maximum level, even if he is injured.

EFFORT

Carles is an example of fellowship, too. When Barça won his fourth Champions League he let his mate Abidal lift the trophy. Abidal suffered from liver cancer that season.

Lluís Llach is a Catalan musician. He was born on May 7th 1948 in Girona. He spent all of his childhood in Verges where he lived with his parents and older brother. His father was a doctor, his mother a teacher who introduced his brother and him to music, playing the piano and the guitar throughout their childhood. The presence of a piano in the house filled Llach with inspiration, he began composing melodies at the age of six.

Biography

DissidentWe are proud of Lluís Llach because during the

dictatorship and the time of repression, he composed songs that reclaimed freedom. He also sang the songs in Catalan, a language that was forbidden.

Facing a diseaseIn the year 1991 the doctors told him he was suffering from cancer.

He overcame it with the help of his friend Miquel Martí i Pol (the greatest Catalan poet of all time).

He gave a concert to celebrate his victory over the disease.

The foundationLluís Llach has got a foundation that is located in

Senegal. This foundation wants to help all the children who don’t

have education, health-care attention, or a place to live… It also aims to help people learn trades in order to be self

suficient
