During my research...

My first article was based on the controversy that surrounded the film. SLP experienced criticism based how the show perceived mental illness.

This article got me interested in the topic of mental illness in the movie.

Which lead me to this article...

This article talked about whether mental illness was what the movie was based on, or if the viewer was supposed to take a much different aspect away.

Once I read this article, it made me question the real meaning behind the movie.

Which lead me here...

This article discussed the underlying themes that SLP was filled with.

Among these themes was this quote: “No matter what, you are never an outsider among family.”

This got me curious about how family acceptance could effect mental illness.

Then I discovered this...

This article was exploring that there could be a scientific correlation between adolescents and unaccepting parents. This study even suggests that parents who do not support their children are encouraging mental illness.

Which made me wonder about how adolescents and mental illness related.

That thought led me here...

This article is an online health website that talks about the studies of children/adolescents who show signs of mental illness and how they are diagnosed.
