DESCRIPTION

NUBIC makes web applications to help manage participants on clinical research. This slideshow presents some of the websites we've developed and how they work in the research process. http://www.nucats.northwestern.edu/centers/nubic

Page 1: NUBIC CTMS System Overview

Research begins with a population of people

(often a large one)

Page 2: NUBIC CTMS System Overview

Some of these people are willing to participate in research

(often because they were recently diagnosed with a

disease)

Page 3: NUBIC CTMS System Overview

These people are entered in a research registry

(this allows researchers to contact them if they match

criteria in some future studies)

Page 4: NUBIC CTMS System Overview

Registar manages the people entered in a research registry

(it handles many of the details of running a registry)

Page 5: NUBIC CTMS System Overview

handles day-to-day details like:o Storing name, address, phone, and emailo Consenting with electronic signatureo Capturing NIH coded gender, race, and ethnicityo Filling out a survey or questionnaire o Searching for participants by question responseso Emailing reminders to renew registryo Forwarding potential participants to researcherso And much more!!!

Registry participants can be identified for a study

(based on how a person fills out a registry they may be a good

fit for a study)

Registry Participants Potential Study Participants

Page 8: NUBIC CTMS System Overview

Identified participants are further screened and enrolled on a study

(this allows researchers to begin collecting research related

information on the participants)

handles management details like:o Storing participant name, DOB, MRN, Case #o Capturing NIH coded gender, race, and ethnicityo Tracking participant status (consented, etc…)o Searching for participants, and studieso Exporting a study participant list to CSVo Generate NIH Inclusion Enrollment reporto Help identify if participants are on multiple trialso And much much more!!!

participants enrolled on a study in eNOTIS can be accessed by other NUBIC systems

(Other NUBIC systems can schedule visits, track samples, collect data, or generate

EDW reports based off eNOTIS)

participants enrolled on a study in eNOTIS can be accessed by other NUBIC systems

(Other NUBIC systems can schedule visits, track samples, collect data, or generate EDW

reports based off eNOTIS)

All scheduling of study visits can be handled through PSC (patient study calendar)

Any Bio-specimens taken from the participant can be tracked and cataloged in SAMPLE

Surveyor has forms and surveys for capturing participant data that is outside the scope of the medical record

EDW Reports on medical history and current lab data can be generated from an eNOTIS study participant list
