This is my grandmother Aurelia Zapata:

She is the sweetest granny in the whole world. She was born in Zarzal, but when she was 14 years old she came to live to Bugalagrande. She got married at the age of 17 with my grandfather Mauro Efrain Avila and they had three children: my aunt Marcela, my uncle Mauricio and my mother Gloria. She has always been a housewife and since my grandpa died she has lived with us.

This is my grandfather Mauro Efrain Avila:

He passed away 10 years ago and I barely remember him, but everybody says he was a great man.

He is my uncle Mauricio Ávila:

He was my mother’s brother. He was born in Tuluá however he always lived in Cali because he studied and worked there. He was a great doctor. He died 7 years ago because of a traffic accident.

She is my aunt Claudia Marcela Avila:

She is my mother’s sister; she has always lived in Cali that’s why I barely know her

This is my mother Patricia Avila:

She’s the best mother in the whole world; she’s been my mother and my best friend at the same time. She’s taught me everything I know and she’s my example to follow. In this moment she works in Antonio Nariño School as a Chemistry teacher and her students love her

This is my cousin Karol Tatiana Avila:

She is like a sister to me though we don’t have enough time to share cause in this moment she is working and studying in Cali. She is a brave girl because she looks after her mother who suffers skin cancer.

This is my brother Jonathan Alvarez:

He is my older brother and we are best friends at the same time, he’s always taken care of me and in this moment I miss him a lot. We only see each other once a week because he lives here in Bugalagrande and I study in Pereira.

This is my grandmother Judith Garcia:

She is my father’s mother, though we don’t live together, we’ve shared great moments, cause she’s always been by my side. She was born in Tuluá but she has lived most of her life in Bugalagrande. She is a great cook and she’s been managing a restaurant for 7 years.

This is my father Mauricio Alvarez:

He´s been married to my mother for 25 years. They are a great couple, though sometimes they have problems they always know how to solve them. He is a good father, but we’ve never shared enough time because he works too much. He’s always traveling.

He is my uncle Eduardo Alvarez:

He is my father’s brother. He was born and raised in Bugalagrande but as he learnt English, he’s been living in the States for 9 years. He ‘s very close to the family and he’s very special with me.
