Mutant Gene Identified That Causes Abnormal Chromosome Count, Leading to Cancer
Inexpensive Method Detects ALK Rearrangement in Lung Cancer Patients
DANIEL ALEJANDRO SALDARRIAGA
MEDICINE STUDENT
INTRODUCTION
Some studies have helped humans increasing all the creations they’ve gotten.Using diffferent techniques to look for new solutions, for example, gene mapping.
• The researchers fouond a gene that is changed in human cancers creating an anueplidy.
• It generates an abnormal number of chromosomes.
MUTANT GENE IDENTIFIED THAT CAUSES ABNORMAL CHROMOSOME COUNT, LEADING TO CANCER. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 18, 2011).
• Usually the part the is missing is called STAG2.
• The main cancers where this gene is mutated are in:
- Glioblastoma multiforme
- Malignant Melanoma
- Ewing's sarcoma
MUTANT GENE IDENTIFIED THAT CAUSES ABNORMAL CHROMOSOME COUNT, LEADING TO CANCER. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 18, 2011).
• The inactivation of this gene doesn’t regulate the cellular division.
• Of that way begins the fight against cancer.
• And every peace un cells starts the dision.
MUTANT GENE IDENTIFIED THAT CAUSES ABNORMAL CHROMOSOME COUNT, LEADING TO CANCER. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 18, 2011).
• When they identify the mutation they used a technique, that perform the mutant genes.
• It makes easier researchers’ life and doctor’s life too.
MUTANT GENE IDENTIFIED THAT CAUSES ABNORMAL CHROMOSOME COUNT, LEADING TO CANCER. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 18, 2011).
OBSERVATION
• Students discoverded that happiness can be in any place.
• They wanted to make easier lives and they make their dream come true. Only trying and trying.
INEXPENSIVE METHOD DETECTS ALK REARRANGEMENT IN LUNG CANCER PATIENTS. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 2, 2011) .
• Lung cancer patients with ALK rearrangement gave a good response to crizotinib.
• FISH is conseidered the main method for detecting the ilness.
INEXPENSIVE METHOD DETECTS ALK REARRANGEMENT IN LUNG CANCER PATIENTS. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 2, 2011) .
• The researchers created CISH (chromogenic in situ hybridization).
• Comparing it with fish detecting faster a mutatant gene.
INEXPENSIVE METHOD DETECTS ALK REARRANGEMENT IN LUNG CANCER PATIENTS. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 2, 2011) .
• There was a big agreement between FISH and CISH.
• CISH, gave good results, for the study.
• Two international Institutes gave help and trust them.
INEXPENSIVE METHOD DETECTS ALK REARRANGEMENT IN LUNG CANCER PATIENTS. SCIENCEDAILY (AUG. 2, 2011) .
OBSERVATION
• These researches are a good entrance for scientific world, increasing the search rate for access to research about different illness.
MEDICINE UTILITY
• Knowing how to work every gen and the effects that they make if they’re mutated are very importan in the medical practice.
MEDICINE UTILITY
• Several changes we can make if we know the mechanism of a gene.
• Cancer has shown that is very dificult cutting it off, till today.
MEDICINE UTILITY
• New treatments get set better every life. For that reason is important help the studies to grow up and trust them to receive the apropiate response.
