DNA REPLICATIONLaura Restrepo Carvajal
Molecular Biology Teacher: Lina MartínezMedicine UPB-MedellinAugust 13/2012
In the replication one strand is synthesized continuously and is called the leading strand, the other is synthesizes discontinue from small fragments called Okasaki fragments and RNA using primers
the origin of replication site is a short repeated sequences that is recognized by proteins binding to sites of origin
DNA polymerases synthesize DNA only in the direction 5 to 3, adding a dNTP to the group 3 hydroxyl a emerging chain
Protein involved in DNA replication centrosome regulation linked to Dwafism and small brain size
Other roles for ORC, includes centrosome regulation and in that secuence , ORC can be a regulator of the cromosomic division , cause centrosome ensures that the duplicated chromosomes are segregated evenly to the daughter cells.
Protein involved in DNA replication centrosome regulation linked to Dwafism and small brain size
MGS patients often have mutations in the gene encoding the ORC therefore does not prevent the centrosome duplication several times.

size
The centrosome also plays a role in establishing cell outgrowths, such as axons in brain cells and cilia in many other cells of the body.
Observation
Early detection of mutation of genes encoding the ORC could give more possibilities of treatment to people suffering from the MGS.
New England Biolabs develop novel polymerase with ultra –high fidelity and minimal GS bias
High fidelity amplification is essential for experiments whose outcome depends upon the correct DNA sequence, such as sequencing, SNP detection, protein expression and gene function studies.
New England Biolabs develop novel polymerase with ultra –high fidelity and minimal GS bias
Q5 High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase sets a new standard for both fidelity and robust performance. With the highest fidelity amplification available (>50 times higher than Taq) that is frequently used in polymerase chain reaction (PCR)
New England Biolabs develop novel polymerase with ultra –high fidelity and minimal GS bias
A hot start version of the Q5 polymerase, which utilizes a synthetic aptamer for room-temperature set up, is also available.
Observation
the uniform amplification of sequences, with robustness, coverage, high speed , and a great amplicon length allows the efficiency of the PCR technique
Medical Utility
Survival of an organism depends on the accurate replication of its genome, an error in the synthesis generates a permanent mutation and the possible elimination of the cell line
Medical Utility
This research has significant implications for processes that control body and brain size; how tissues come to be the size that they are is a little understood area of biology. Studying how mutations in centrosome biology affect tissue and body size may lead to insights into this regulation, Stillman suggests
Medical Utility
These new types of PCR award according to their characteristics, greater certainty to the diagnosis of malignant diseases such as leukemia and lymphomas ,as will be made much easier and faster identification of virus or bacteria causing a disease like SIDA, identify persons (bodies) or do scientific research on DNA amplified
