Got Facts?

Some of my favorite ads. There are hundreds of ads ranging from actors, musicians, athletes, etc.
Lauren
Got Milk is famous for featuring celebrities

The Power of 9

Lauren
In 2011, Got Milk? took a different approach to their campaign and introduced "The Power of Nine" campaign.
Lauren
represents the nine essential nutrients in milk

Apparently, it's not cool to drink milk when you're a teenager but it is super cool to drink sports drinks and sodas. Change that.

Challenge:

“We launched the Power of 9 campaign searching for teen girls who live life by their own rules and are proud milk drinkers. Our goal was to show the power of milk's 9 essential nutrients by bringing together 9 outstanding individuals.”

Solution:

Lauren
an elite group of teen girls who will become the next Milk Mustache stars, serve as milk ambassadors and have a chance to make a positive impact on their peers across the country throughout 2011.

“The 9 will become the next Milk Mustache celebrities and have a chance to empower other teen girls to make the right choices”

Lauren
Girls from around the country submitted 2 minute videos to myyearbook.com/powerof9 to prove that milk is an important part of their everyday lives. We narrowed it down to 27 semifinalists (who did some of their own campaigning) and the rest was up to America's vote.
Lauren
"Volunteer brand-enthusiasts"
Lauren
submit a short video that shows who they are, what inspires them, and why milk is an important ingredient in their lives.

Lauren
So basically, we all became "brand ambassadors" for the Got Milk Campaign. The reach was pretty incredible from local newscasts, newspapers, and even landed in USA today.

The ad was featured in Seventeen, Teen Vogue, and People magazine. We also had the chance to blog for Seventeen.com about our experience and how milk will continue to be apart of our lives.

Behind the scenes

Fun fact!

Lauren
Not actually milk, it's some kind of concoction they created just for the Got Milk ads. It smells like cheesecake and it's got the consistency of yogurt.
Lauren
Relates back to what Hunter said about just doing something. I made a 2 minute video with my crappy camera and ended up becoming a part of one of the most recognized and iconic advertising campaigns in history.
Lauren
And that is how....

Thank you!

Lauren
A glass of milk inspired me to pursue advertising! Thank you.
