Medicine rules:

1. Only a doctor or parent can give you medicines. (Teachers, the school nurse, or babysitters can give them to you with your parents permission.)

2. Never share your medicine with someone else.

3. Your medicine should be given exactly as the medicine label says to.

4. Medicines should be kept in a high, locked cabinet so small children can’t reach them.

Jessica wasn’t feeling very well. Her mom was at work and Suzy stopped by to say hello.

Jessica said, “I don’t think you should stay. I’m not feeling well. I was just about to look in the medicine cabinet to see if there are any left over prescriptions I can take”

What will Suzy say to Jessica?

Alex was playing basketball with Cool Dude. A kid they know from school showed up at the basketball courts with a bottle of cough syrup. He offered the boys some.

He said, “This stuff tastes really good. Would you like to try it?”

What should Alex and Cool Dude do?

Willie was home sick with a fever and the flu. His dad gave him something to help keep his fever down and it worked for about 2 hours.

He was feeling really hot again and was thinking about taking some more medicine without asking his dad. He took out the bottle and read it.

It said, “take two tablets every four to six hours.”

What should Willie do?
