PRINCIPLES UNDERLYING EFFECTIVE AMPLIFICATIONObjective Many decisions must be made prior to

selecting amplification for a child. These decisions are based on

individualized needs and abilities, diagnostic information (e.g., degree of hearing loss, physical characteristics, etc.), environment in which the individual functions, empirical evidence, and/or clinician experience.

The overarching goal is to match the technology/features of the amplification system to the needs and abilities of the patient.
