Hackensack University Health Network

 

Hackensack  University  Health  Network:  •    Parent  company  of    HackensackUMC,  the  HackensackUMC  Founda7on,  Hackensack  University  Medical  Group,  Palisades  Medical  Center,  and  corporate  joint  venture  partners  with  LHP  Hospital  Group  in  ownership  of  HackensackUMC  at  Pascack  Valley  and  HackensackUMC  Mountainside.    

•    May  2015:  HackensackUHN  signed  a  defini7ve  agreement  to  merge  with  Meridian  Health;  crea7ng  one,  integrated  healthcare  delivery  system,  known  as  Hackensack  Meridian  Health.  

•    June  2015:  HackensackUHN  and  Seton  Hall  University  announced  a  defini7ve  agreement  to  form  a  new,    four-­‐year  school  of  medicine  –  the  only  private  medical  school  in  New  Jersey.    

•    HackensackUHN  also  enjoys  clinical  and  academic  affilia7ons  with  some  of  the  na7on’s  most  well-­‐renowned  health  systems,  hospitals  and  universi7es.  

•    More  than  10,800  employees,  3,300  creden7aled  medical  staff  members  and  1,717  hospital  and  nursing  home  beds  at  hospitals  within  the  Network  -­‐  one  of  the  largest  healthcare  systems  in  New  Jersey.

CityMD Urgent Care

In  March  of  2014,  HackensackUHN  established  a  new  partnership  with  New  York-­‐based  CityMD  to  open  urgent  care  centers  during  the  next  few  years  in  northern  New  Jersey.  CityMD  currently  has  more  than  50  urgent  care  centers  in  the  New  York  metro  area,  including  23  in  New  York  City.  This  partnership  marks  the  first  expansion  into  urgent  care  centers  for  the  Network,  and  the  centers  will  be  located  in  Bergen,  Hudson,  Passaic  and  Essex  coun7es  and  Rockland  County,  NY.

•  MinuteClinic  is  the  retail  healthcare  division  of  CVS  Caremark.  •  HackensackUMC  physicians  serve  as  medical  directors  for  nine  MinuteClinic    

walk-­‐in  medical  clinics  inside  select  CVS/pharmacy  stores  in  Bergen,  Essex,    Hudson  and  Passaic  coun7es.    

•  MinuteClinic  and  HackensackUMC  collaborate  and  refer  pa7ents  to  one  another  when  clinically  appropriate.

•  HackensackUMC  formed  a  joint  venture  partnership    with  community  physicians  and  United  Surgical  Partners  Interna7onal  (USPI)  in  the  acquisi7on  and  opera7on  of  two  ambulatory  surgery  centers:    

–  Hackensack  Endoscopy  Center  –  Endoscopy  Center  of  Bergen  County    

•  Under  the  partnership,  HackensackUMC  and  USPI    own  a  joint  venture  company  that  partners  with    physicians  to  own  and  operate  a  network  of  outpa7ent    ambulatory  surgery  centers  in  the  region.

HackensackUMC Fitness & Wellness Powered by the Giants

•8,100 current F&W members • 39,465 patients seen at F&W in 2014

•  HackensackUMC  teamed  up  with  the  New  York  Football  Giants  and  Fitness  &  Wellness  Professional  Services  to  open  a  112,000-­‐square-­‐foot,  state-­‐of-­‐the-­‐art  wellness  center    on  Route  17  in  Maywood,  NJ.  

 •  Fitness  space:  state-­‐of-­‐the-­‐art  cardio  and  strength  training  equipment;  an  aqua7c  center  featuring  three  salt-­‐water  filtered  pools;  group  fitness  classes;  personal  training;    healthy  cooking  demos,  and  support  groups.  

 •  Wellness  and  medical  needs:  behavioral  health,  Health  Awareness  Regional  Program,  the  Molly  Diabetes  Educa7on/Management  Center  for  Adults  and  Children,  the  Ins7tute  for  Breast  Care,  physical  therapy  and  rehabilita7on,  and  the  Debra  Simon  Center  for  Integra7ve  Medicine.
