Is Hair Transplant also for Women?http://www.hairsg.com
There are several people
who thinks that hair
transplant is only for men,
well in fact, this procedure
is also applicable for
women. However, the
procedure varies. With
men, the pattern baldness
has a clear region of
balding while the other
area doesn’t have and is
considered as the donor
region. However, in women is different because the hair loss is more subtle. There is
only a thinning of hair and no obvious bald patches.
Facts that hair transplant for women involves:
Women are more suitable for follicular unit extraction since the requirement for
them is for more density and volume while for men is to cover the bald spots.
FUE can offer natural looking results as well as the desired density. The healing
time is minimal since it does not involve scalpels, stitches and even sutures.
Clouts will be made in some areas of the head where hair growth is denser and
follicular units will be extracted. These follicular units are kept in a physiological
solution until the time it is required.
Since the follicular units are removed from the follicle itself, there is almost no
damage to the units which further guarantees the best end result for patients
who undergoes this process.
Levels of Pain and time for recovery:
The time to recover really depend on how big the area that needs to be covered. The
qualified doctor should be able to give a clear idea of how much time needed for the
procedure. Normally, it would take between one to two full days to finish such
procedure.
The doctors will give some local anaesthesia or mild sedative since there is still
minimal pain experienced during the process. Aside from that, a discomfort and
tugging feeling may be experienced as the process goes along. Since the procedure
does not involve any cuts nor sutures, the time required for healing is minimal which
usually takes only two to four days to recover.
Results Expectation
As in any case of medical and surgical procedure, there will be a slight amount of
discomfort which also includes numbness or tingling. There are also cases that a
patient may have swelling or redness but these are all part of the process and may
disappear after a few days.
Within three to four weeks, the patient may noticeably see healthy and strong hair as
well as a lot more density. Within less than a year, the patient may have a head of hair
and will be able to style and color it. Given this, hair transplant offers a permanent
result which is worth it.
Few women who experiences hair loss choses to only have hair extensions or wear hair
pieces in order to make their hair fuller since they think that hair transplant is only for
men. Yet, with this information given, women may realise that this procedure can also
be applicable for women and be happy with the results.
