In 2010, the sleep center conducted 390 sleep studies and ran three to four days per week. In 2014,

the center completed over 1,100 sleep studies, running seven days per week.

Continuous follow-up care with a technician is provided for the lifetime of the patient using CPAP, including free mask fittings and sleep education.

The sleep center has CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) compliance rates of 82 percent,

meaning the therapy is used for an average of four hours a night at least five nights a week. The national

average is 47 percent.

A.W.A.K.E. is one of the nation’s best sleep apnea support groups that meets monthly. The group

celebrated its fifth anniversary in March.

The Parrish Sleep Disorders Center is the only sleep center or lab in Brevard County that accepts self-

referrals.

The sleep center originally started as a sleep lab, conducting tests only for sleep-related breathing

disorders, like sleep apnea. Realizing the specialized needs of sleep medicine, the facility was converted to

a sleep center, expanding diagnostic and treatment services to include any sleep disorder.
