Mission
According to the New England Journal of Medicine, in 2009 there were nearly 100,000 adverse drug events (ADE) in U.S. impacting adults ages 65 years and older.
Warfarin was the number one medication responsible for those ADE’s, having caused roughly the same number of hospitalizations as the other top three drugs combined.1
INR Tracker strives to provide patients with the necessary tools and support to better manage their
Warfarin treatment

Problem• Warfarin requires patients to have several tests (INR’s) each month to monitor
the drugs function within the body. This burden on the patient can result in: – Increased medical costs– Reduced quality of life (e.g. lifestyle restrictions and increased bleeding risk)– Patient dissatisfaction (e.g. inconsistent INR’s)– Discontinuation of highly-efficacious therapy2
• Patients taking Warfarin have a difficult time managing the drug due to its inherent volatility. Warfarin interacts with: – Food– Prescription medicines– Over-the-counter medicines– Exercise– Weather– Menstruation– And more…

Solution / Assumptions
• Solution– Provide patients with an at-home drug and dietary management
system to better handle their Warfarin treatment and obtain a consistent INR
• Assumptions– Patients want a tool to help them record their Warfarin treatment
history– Patients want a tool to help them manage their dietary needs in
conjunction with their Warfarin therapy– Patients are willing to give effort to repeatedly record their
treatment history– Documenting their treatment history will help decrease the burden
of being on Warfarin by reducing doctor visits
