The cost of giving birth can vary greatly depending on your country, method of care
chosen and hospital fees.

3 Method of care chosen
The cost can be different from which country you live in. Generally, it costs more to give
birth in places where there is a larger percentage of people with high incomes.
The cost of the birth can vary depending on the doctor and hospital. The fee structure is different for each individual hospital. County hospitals have much
lower fees, but the cleanliness and type of care may not be as great as at some of the larger hospitals. Private hospitals have more convenient sercives but the
price may be triple times compared to public hospitals. Here are examples of two cases with C-section delivery from two hospitals in Vietnam.

A Conventional Delivery is obviously much cheaper than C-section Delivery. An uncomplicated birth can cost $ 500 to $1,000, and a C-section typically costs $1,500 to $5,000 in Vietnam. The cost goes up depending on how long the patient stays in the hospital and if any complication arises before or after the
delivery. However some complicated conventional births can cost nearly as much as a C-section. When interventions are used, the cost of care goes up greatly
even if a woman has a conventional birth. Some interventions like an epidural or other medical procedures can sky rocket the cost of having a baby.
How can health insurance share your bundle of bills? Many health insurance policies include maternity and new born cover. These benefits can help you reduce your financial bundle a lot.
However the nature of insurance aims to cover a person for the risks of health they can not foresee, so the maternity benefit is included in the health insurance plan and has a waiting period in order to start. You cannot use the maternity benefit if you are already pregnant
before you buy health insurance.
Blue Cross Vietnam has many plans for you to choose depending on your budget. Here are some suggestions for your consider:
