FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE !! Florence was born in 1820,12 th of May in the lovely country Italy, Florence she was named after the city she born in. As a child she was very close to her father he wanted a boy so he treated her like a friend/companion and nothing more. When she turned 25 years of age she told her parents about her dream of being a nurse her parents did not like this idea because was associated with working class women. Florence’s desire of becoming a nurse began the day she met Elizabeth Blackwell first woman to qualify as doctor in the United Kingdom.

FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE !!Florence was born in 1820,12 th of May in the lovely country Italy, Florence she was named after the city she born in. FLORENCE Florence’s father finally gave her permission to train as a nurse in 1851. At the age of 31 she went to Germany to study to become a nurse at the institute of Protestant Deaconessess 2 years later she was appointed resident lady superintendent for a hospital in Harley street, London. In 1853 Russia invaded Turkey. England were very concerned about Russia invading Turkey a lot of nurses and doctors went over to help with the aid and Florence was one of those nurses in the Crimean war.

FLORENCE Florence was disgusted with the army hospital men lying down inTheir death beds with no blanket or nothing over them. unwashed and everything still in their uniforms awful. In 1856 Florence returned to England as a national heroine she was really shocked with the lack of hygiene care the men were getting in the British army. Florence published two books called notes on hospital(1856) and notes on nursing(1856).in later life Florence suffered from poor health and in 1895 she became blind she had to be nursed and most of her abilities and in the tragic year 1910 Florence passed away on the 13th of August..
