Supporting Healthcare Providers

• The system is designed to be integrated into existing local clinical information systems

• Faster and easier access to patients’ health information means faster, holistic, safer care

• Approximately 90% of all GP clinical software is now PCEHR compliant

Charting progress: PCEHR Adoption

Over, 970,000 consumers have registered for an eHealth record.

An average of 6,500 Australians are signing up per day for an eHealth record.

5,517 healthcare organisations (HPI-Os) have registered for access to the PCEHR,

covering all the health care providers who work in them.

The PCEHR currently contains about 30,000 clinical documents, and is growing at

a rate of approx. 2,500 documents a week.

There are nearly 27,000 consumer entered health summaries, 239,975 childhood

immunisation records, and 120,762 organ donor registry documents.

Pathology Reports

• Sharing of pathology report information via the PCEHR will:

• Support continuity of care;

• Increase visibility for individuals to manage their own healthcare; and

• Potentially decrease duplication of tests.
