Our goal with SF HIP is to bring UCSF’s research capital—

the great wealth of health policy, health sciences and

clinical research discoveries— to the health improvement

efforts of our community and civic partners. Through

combined civic, community and academic expertise, we

will effectively translate this research capital into scalable

interventions to make a measurable impact on community

health and eliminate disparities.

Coordinating

Council

We have reviewed existing SF health needs

assessments to identify priority areas. Our partners

have chosen to focus as much as possible on

upstream prevention and health promotion, and

UCSF has provided infrastructure by establishing

and maintaining Partnership Working Group in these

topic areas.

Our Coordinating Council is a multi-

stakeholder leadership group that

reflects a diverse set of partners from

UCSF, SF Health Equity Coalitions, The

Hospital Council, Kaiser Permanente

Division of Research, SF Mayor’s Office

of Housing, SF Department of Public

Health, and the SF Unified School

District.
