:CHILD CARE TIPS :TO FIGHT AGAINST
MONSOON DISEASES
Although there is lot to enjoy in Monsoon, yet special care is required as the changing weather brings host of diseases with it. Playing in rain and jumping over water is always fun whether children are doing it or an adult is doing, but children demand more care and attention as their immunity towards fighting germs is low. All parents should be aware of this and should not allow children to spend long hours in rain.
Change in temperature, rise in sea level and extremes in hydrologic cycles causes the differences in weather which in turn causes various diseases as our body does not adapt changes instantaneously.Some diseases breed more in Monsoon as compared to other seasons and parents should keep a noteabout them.
1- MALARIAAs everyone knows, Malaria causing insect is Mosquito and the name is FemaleAnopheles. The mosquitoes mostly breed in waterlogged areas and thus at the time of rain, the number increases. Hence it is advisable to keep water tanks clean and the nearby areas free from any water logging.
2- TYPHOID This disease is always on rise in Monsoon as it is
caused by contaminated water andfood. The best way to prevent oneself from this disease is to wash hands regularly, wash vegetables and fruits before eating and last avoid street food consumption in Monsoon.
3- VIRAL FEVER It is a very common disease in Monsoon and affects
large number of children every year. The heavy rains and presence of humidity makes it easier for germs and infections to be carried out from one person to another. The lesser the immunity a person have, greater the chances of being infected with disease.
4- SKIN INFECTIONS Another very common issue which arises at
Monsoon time is the Skin Infections due to various insects and germs present in water. The rain water gives birth to number of insects which becomes host for various skin infections.
5- STOMACH INFECTIONThe contaminated water also causes stomach
infections such as gastroenteritis which happens due to congestion of roadside food and water.
