Breast
Augmentation
MythsBy Dr. Michael Rose
Considering Breast
Augmentation?Getting a breast augmentation is a huge decision, as it will
forever alter a woman’s body. All women are encouraged
to do a great deal of research before they decide to have
any plastic surgery. However, there are notions about
breast implants that can be misleading or simply wrong.
Following are some of the most common myths:
1. Breast implants can rupture from normal
activities like sports or getting a mammogram:
Breast implants are tested in rigorous conditions in
order to ensure that they will survive daily activities.
2. No breastfeeding:
Many women believe that you cannot breastfeed with
breast implants. Like the previous myth, this is a very
rare occurrence. Some women do experience difficulty
with breastfeeding, but most have no problem with it.
3. Implants feel unnatural:
Though implants will never feel exactly like real
breasts, they have been greatly improved over the years
and are a good substitute. Doctors can recommend
ways to avoid the building up of scar tissue, which can
also lead to harder-feeling breasts.

4. Everyone will know you had a
breast augmentation:
You can opt for a natural-looking augmentation,
which will be hard to detect with the average eye.
For More Information These are just a few of the myths about breast
augmentation. Talk with a plastic surgeon to learn
more about the procedure.
