A bilby is a bandicoot and a mammal. It is also

endangered.

A bilby is about 50-70cm long and it weighs 1-2.5kg. It’s body shape is an oval and it has soft grey fur for warmth.

Bilbies live in central Australia in the desert.

A bilby digs a burrow with it’s powerful back legs and stays in it on boiling days in the desert. It also hunts at night because it’s nocturnal.
