BABY PRITHASARDER, THE STAR OF BEHALA

VISION CENTRE, KOLKATA

Puspendu Sader, father of nine months old child Pritha Sarder, was unsure about his daughter’s vision.

When objects were brought in front of Pritha, she would struggle to hold them. On hearing about the

nominal fee being charged at the Behala Vision Centre close to his house, Puspendu immediately took

Pritha for a comprehensive check-up. She was diagnosed with congenital cataract and was referred for

treatment to MFV’s Vision Partner Hospital in Kolkata. The family’s fears that they would be compelled

to sell some of their farmland, or obtaining a loan to pay for Pritha’s surgery were dispelled when they

were informed that she would receive treatment free of charge at the hospital.

Pritha underwent a successful cataract surgery on 24 September, 2013 and has been christened the Star of

the Behala Vision Centre. The news of her successful treatment and recovery spread very fast and has

resulted in an increase in the number of patients visiting the Centre.
