Weight Gain A Result of Sales Promotions?

Our food consumption is often a result of its

accessibility.

The ability to shop online has given us access to just

about everything.

A recent study set out to determine the effect of online sales promotions and our

snack food purchases.

Participants were a mix of overweight and healthy body

weight.

Participants were given the task of purchasing items online in preparation for an imaginary 3-day

weekend getaway.

The study assigned one group of participants to an online supermarket with sales promotions, while the other group

shopped without promotions.

Results found that participants who were overweight often bought more calories from snack products when they were advertised. Those of a healthier

body weight were less affected by the sales promotion.

If you are easily susceptible to sales, be extra careful with your food purchases!
