Original Creative Concept

• Situation: There have recently been several reports of animal - human communications events (whales, dolphins, elephant, birds, apes, chimpanzees and so on).

• Vision: To develop tablets or other electronic interfaces to extend human - animal communications.

• Mission: to put together a team to explore options for developing such a medium.

SLEEP. Many people suffer from sleep deprivation. Some have babies who wake them up, some are woken up by someone snoring, some work the night shift, some suffer from barking dogs next door, and others have jet lag. The challenges to getting enough sleep are endless...

Recasting the Concept to Fit the Assignment

• Given the disconnect between the original creative concept (animal apps) and the assignment (sleep deprivation) there is a need to reconsider what problem we wish to solve and how.

Team Problem Statement• In a town-house a dog, at night, not awake to their

masters needs, continually barks or gets on the bed to annoy their owners. If they close the door the dog barks and scratches at the door. This has become an uncomfortable situation because the owners can not get enough sleep to perform their daily tasks: some work and others study.

• All that has happened is they give things to the dog. But they have been unsuccessful because the dog is an adult and is also large.

• The owners have contacted our group / team to help them to provide an innovative solution to this situation
