Who are we?

Biomedical Modeling, Inc. is a Boston-based anatomical engineering company.

We make anatomical models from

medical imaging data (CT, MRI, etc.)

for medical, dental, and engineering applications.

We are best known for the models we made for planning the surgical separation of the Alvarez twins who were conjoined at the head.

What do we do?

We make models tumor resections and craniofacial reconstruction.

We make models to serve as templates for making custom implants and prostheses.

We make patient-specific models for

dental implant placement.

For Dentists

We make computer-based and bench-top models for medical device development, simulation, and research.

We make models for healthcare training and surgical simulation.

For Students & Educators

We also have the facilities and skills for 3D laser scanning to capture external surface geometries.

If a patient-specific model is not required, we may be able to provide suitable data from our anatomical library.

For patient-specific models, we typicallystart working from the CT or MRI scans.

Where do we start?

The virtual models we produceare available in various formats for

engineering analysis, CAD design, and 3D printing.

We fabricate our physical modelsthrough various 3D printing techniques in specialized

materials and make molds for casting when the properties of printable materials are not adequate.
