A Woman’s Hair Losshttp://www.hairsg.com
Many women in this world
would want to have as long as
what Rapunzel has in her
head, a very long, silky and
tangible hair. A lot of
commercials have been
showing different results with
shampoos, conditioners, hair
treatments, and other hair
cares that suitably indulge hair with extraordinary results that would attract
men. But with these available products and services, often times they do not
know that these can cause harm and damage with the hair. The bigger
problem is that many do not even realize that they are doing something
wrong.
Hair is far more than a bundle of fiber, it is an expression of style and
personality. According to some research, hair and self-image are closely
tangled. If a woman feels a bad hair day, hair loss can be a stressful sight for
every woman who faces the mirror.
How do Hair Grows? An average scalp has 100,000 hairs and each hair grows at a rate of half an
inch per month. After growing for two to six years, hair rests before falling
out. At any point, 85% of hair is growing will the remainder is resting.
Hair LossHair loss is not only for men but also for women. Forty percent of people who
experience temporary or long term hair loss are mostly women. Some
women have developed baldness distinctively at the crown of their head
while others have thinning all over or at the center part of the head which
gradually widens. Women infrequently develop a receding hair line unlike
men.
Since resting hairs regularly fall out, most people shed about 50 to 100
strands every day. Typically, few hair strands may be seen in a hairbrush or
even in the clothes. Hair loss can happen in several other ways, even when
shampooing.
Causes of Hair LossHair loss in women can be caused by about 30 different medical conditions,
but can also be triggered with several lifestyle factors. Sometimes, there is
no specific cause that can be found. Thyroid problems, hormonal imbalance,
genetics, aging, Androgenic Alopecia and ringworm may trigger hair loss.
Childbirth, pills, crash diets, stress and even cancer treatments may also add
up to trigger hair loss.
Treatments of Hair LossThere are available medicines that are approved by FDA for female pattern
hair loss. Minoxidil (Rogaine) can slow or stop or hair loss in most women and
may help hair grow back in up to a quarter of those who uses it.
Laser devices is only one method to treat hair loss. This device emit low-
energy laser light that may stimulate hair growth to help fight thinning hair.
Hair Transplants is a procedure involves moving hair to thinning scalp areas
from donor sites. The trouble with this method is that female pattern
baldness causes thin hair all over, thus, good donor sites may be limited.
To specifically evaluate why hair loss is experienced by women or men,
check with a certified doctor first before taking some actions.
