The facial expression and the blurred out effect on this clip shows some sort of drug taking in my opinion as she seems completely fazed out, yet she isn’t asleep due to her eyes being open.

This clip follows straight after the supposed ‘drug taking’, enhancing the idea that she has taken drugs as she wakes up on a park bench. It is also quite an odd shot as you very rarely see such young women in this situation.

With her arms in this position it may symbolize her feeling free, or at peace with herself after the night before. Also the fact she is looking to the sky may also symbolize that she may be asking a higher power for help.

This ring above her head may symbolize somewhat of a Halo, and as she is looking up at it, it could be showing her once again looking up for help or someone to comfort her.

Here we see the first shot of the actual artist – Ed Sheeran. In this shot he is buying a ‘big issue’, this shows the artist as a caring, giving person. Which therefore makes him more appealing to his target audience.

You can see here that the woman is carrying her sleeping bag/blanket around with her, making it certain that she is homeless. As she looks at the flowers it gives the audience a sense of sympathy towards her as she follows to stroke the flowers, then carry on walking knowing she cannot afford them.

In this clip, the video has been edited to fast forward the clip, showing the pedestrians to constantly walk past her without even looking at her, you see that she does not move the entire time, enhancing the audiences sympathy towards this character.

This shows a close up of the character as she cries, once again making the audience feel sorry for her as she has gathered very little money all day.

This shot shows the girl getting ready for a night of prostitution, making the audience loose the sympathy they once had for her. However it also shows the harsh reality of women that are living homeless, as this may be a main way to get money.
