Patient focus and public involvement and the Scottish Health Council

• Providing induction programmes for Board volunteers• Carrying out evaluation exercises, getting feedback from the public on
the quality of engagement• Giving advice to NHS staff on how to engage with patients and the
public on specific projects, including service change• Helping to set up volunteer led ‘mystery shopper’ projects to improve
customer care standards• Provide patient focus and public involvement ‘awareness’ sessions for
NHS staff• Organising local workshops on social media and webcasting• Mapping networks of working people and advising Board how to best
engage with these groups
