PBLDs are case-based, learner-centered discussions. These sessions are guided informally to promote, and encouragean exchange of ideas. Each session can have up to a maximum of twenty (20) participants. These participants meet witha moderator who has authored that particular anesthesia problem. PBLDs allow for an in-depth exploration of the caseand simulate problem-solving techniques which anesthesiologists encounter, and employ in their daily practice.

The small group format allows for the opportunity for dynamic interaction with peers and the faculty moderator. Thisnon-lecture format, facilitates active learning, and is learner-centered, rather than faculty-centered. PBLDs also promote teamwork in clinical problem solving.

A complete PBLD listing will be posted on our website. Since seating at each PBLD is limited, and because of the need toreview preparatory literature, you are advised to enroll in advance.
