When Your Teen Does Needs Mental Health Treatment?
Teen mental healthis a matter of serious consideration these days, because if avoided or
neglected, mental illness in young adults can pose serious threats to his or her overall
health. Some key symptoms to notice are:
Being a parent, you can better recognize a shift in your son’s or daughter’s mood and this
kind of mood swing is a clear indication of mental illness.
Just like mood swings, if you notice strange behavioral changes (certain changes of choice is
normal) in your kid, this again is a symptom of mental illness.
If your teen used to be a bright student in school and his or her school performance also
deteriorate suddenly, it means that your kid is being distracted and cannot concentrate on
his or her work, which again is a symptom of mental sickness.
You may also notice certain physical symptoms like lack of energy, changes in eating and
sleeping, complaining of headaches, stomach-aches frequently can all be symptoms of
mental illness.
Another consequence of mental illness is inability to show any kind of interest in friends or
relatives. A mentally ill child would not like to meet people and stay away from crowd.
Another symptom of mental illness in a teen may be that he or she might shower less often
and not keeping on grooming and may seem comfortable in his or her shabby appearance.
You may also find drug or alcohol use, or any kind of eating dis order indicating mental
illness.
