Prosthetic Complication with Dental Implant

The establishment of implant dentistry is highly successful, providing the predictable treatment

option for patients with partial and total edentulism. However inadequately addressed implant

prosthetic complication may be detrimentally leading to prosthetic failure, peri-implant

inflammation and bone loss or total implant failure. This presentation will review clinical

complications of implant prosthesis and discuss what clinicians and dental laboratory technologists

may consider for the prevention and solution of common clinical complication in prosthetic

implant dentistry.

Peri-Implant Diseases: “The Dark Side” Peri-Implant Complications and Their Management

Dental implants have a very high survival rate. Whereas peri-implant mucositis has been compared

to gingivitis and the concurrent inflammatory process, peri- implantitis mirrors the pathogenesis of

periodontitis. Non-surgical therapy has been found to reduce inflammation and localized infection

to varying degrees. Surgical treatments of peri-implantitis predicated upon their success for the

treatment of periodontitis have also met with varying degrees of success. With the global dental

implant market expected to grow close to 10% from 2014 to 2020, it is also anticipated that there

will be a rise in the challenges of treating peri-implant diseases.

Simplified GBR with ASAP Protocol – Autologous Sticky Augmentation Procedure

Predictable soft and hard tissue regeneration and maintenance, so crucial to the clinical success of

each case is highly dependent on the appropriate selection of material as well as the technique

and approach. With abundance of newer materials on the market, the clinician is given the task to

marry the right material and technique, often without much scientific guidance. This presentation

will highlight the role of "biologics" in soft and hard tissue regeneration, ranging from synthetic

materials, to genetically engineered enzymes, proteins, and concentrated natural blood extracts

such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), CGF (concentrated growth factors), and PRF (platelet rich fibrin).

A thorough understanding of these materials together with knowledge of clinical applications for

each and every material will be covered, including the new autologous sticky augmentation

procedure (ASAP) protocol, based on available evidence in the current dental literature.

Graftless solution for fully edentulous patients: predictable and minimally invasive

approach using Neobiotech implant system

Many patients are living longer and do not find a conventional complete or partial removable

denture acceptable. In this lecture, the focus will be on treatment of completely or partially

edentulous patients with immediate loading of a converted denture to a fixed detachable screw-

retained prosthesis. Treatment planning and case selection will be discussed with overview of both

surgical and prosthetic protocol.

Disneyland, Anaheim - 30miles For more than 50 years, lovers of that famous mouse named Mickey have been

heading to Anaheim, California to spend a few days amidst the fantasy of all things

Disney. Walt Disney was 53-years-old when he realized his dream of building a park

where "age relives fond memories of the past and youth may savor the challenge and

promise of the future.”

Officially opened on July 17, 1955, all was not rosy during the early days of Disneyland

park, especially on opening day, when 6,000 guests were invited but 28,000 showed up

for the festivities! Rides broke down, streets leading to the park were jammed, and

shoes sank into the still-soft concrete! But, before long - and in inimitable Disney

fashion - the staff and Imagineers at Disneyland had everything under control and the park soon became one of Southern California's most

popular tourist destinations.

Today, the popularity continues, thanks to Disney's universal appeal and the company's dedication to keeping Disneyland new and fresh, not

only with the addition of new rides but also a whole new park (California Adventure) and the Downtown Disney district where visitors can

shop, dine, and even enjoy nightlife a la Disney.

Hollywood - 13miles Although Hollywood is a neighborhood in Los Angeles, for some it's more a state-of-

mind. "I'm going to Hollywood," say young hopefuls who dream of acting in movies or

on television.

Indeed, they're going to Los Angeles but probably not to Hollywood itself. Though

Hollywood has long represented the glitz and glamour of the film, television, and music

industries, most studios have moved away from this quirky district in favor of other L.A.

neighborhoods, like Burbank.

Nevertheless, Hollywood still attracts millions of visitors each year who travel there to

pay homage to their favorite stars and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a few famous

personalities. Sometimes they're lucky! And while, for years, Hollywood had a rather seedy reputation, the town has endeavored to make

recent improvements in the areas most visited by tourists, adding a new kind of charm to this interesting neighborhood.

Universal Studio - 16miles The second most popular theme park in L.A. (behind Disneyland/California

Adventure). The world-famous movie studio and theme park featuring movie

studios, tours, attractions, rides, restaurants and more. Get a behind-the-scenes

look at special effects techniques. See what life's like on a movie back lot.

Universal Studios is a another "must see" attraction, because it's a movie studio

tour and a world-class amusement park all rolled into one package. Universal

Studios is just minutes from Hollywood Boulevard and Downtown Los Angeles,

by car or via subway train.

Santa Monica Beach - 11miles Where can you go to experience the excitement of Southern California, the lure of the

big city, and the peacefulness of a trip to the seashore - all in one visit? The answer is

Santa Monica, the Los Angeles area's true "urban" beach.

For decades, Santa Monica has been "the" beach for those that live in and around the

city of Los Angeles, including top-name stars in the movie and television industry.

That's not to say, however, that Santa Monica can't be enjoyed by the average person.

This vibrant beach community opens its arms to everyone and is close to most of

Southern California's best attractions, making it easy to include on your itinerary - in

between trips to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood, and other top tourist sites.

Santa Monica is also a wonderful place to stay while you're visiting the area. After a long day spent exploring Southern California, spending

your nights at a beach hotel or rental will be a welcome respite after a busy day of sightseeing.

LegoLand Near San Diego. The theme park features rides, entertainment and more than

15,000 models and attractions made out of tens of millions of Lego bricks,

including a dinosaur that is alone built from more than two million bricks. Young

kids LOVE LegoLand! They'll find rides and roller coasters made especially for

them! Older kids and parents will enjoy the laser blasters and the Lego

Mindstorms Learning Center. LegoLand is about a one-hour drive south from

Disneyland but it is definitely worth the drive. This attraction is sure to provide

your family with a full day of thrills and entertainment.

Long Beach - 20miles Located in the heart of Southern California, Long Beach blends the urban sophistication of a big city with the relaxed atmosphere of a beach

resort. Discover diverse hotels, world-class attractions, cutting-edge museums, award-winning restaurants and a thriving, multi-faceted arts

and culture scene. Bordered by the Pacific Ocean, with 5.5 miles of sandy beach front, plus miles of inland bays and waterways, Long Beach

basks in the warm glow from our year-round California sun.

Beverly Hills - 11miles Thanks to a certain TV show and endless appearances on the silver screen, Beverly Hills

may very well possess the most famous zip code in the U.S. Although it only spans 5.7

square miles, this little city is a world-class destination, attracting millions of visitors

each year who are hoping to take some of its glitz and glamour home with them.

Beverly Hills is located in the western region of Los Angeles County, and it's surrounded

by the cities of Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Santa Monica and Culver City. It is said to

form a "Platinum Triangle" with adjacent neighborhoods Bel Air and Holmby Hills, as all

three areas are regarded as the most affluent within Los Angeles. Beverly Hills is home

to many A-list celebrities, public figures, executives and well-to-do families and

individuals who are able to afford homes in this astronomically priced area.

Visitors from around the world frequent Beverly Hills in droves, searching for stars and frequenting its chichi stores, boutiques and eateries.

Living up to its illustrious reputation, you'll find an exceptional selection of five-star hotels in Beverly Hills. Among the most notable are The

Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows, The Beverly Hilton, The Beverly Wilshire, L'Ermitage Beverly Hills, Montage Beverly Hills, The Peninsula

Beverly Hills and Thompson Beverly Hills. The sky's the limit at these impressive properties, but, as with most places in this city, they will cost

guests a pretty penny.

Downtown - 18miles Tourist attractions in downtown Los Angeles, plus information on how to go on

free guided tours. See Disney Hall plus the Performing Arts Center, MOCA

museums, Little Tokyo, Olvera Street, the Jewelry District and other popular sites.

LAS VEGAS Toures Las Vegas tours are one of the best ways to see attractions off the beaten path - or Strip as the case may be. Sometimes, there's just too

much to see with too little time to see it. Sounds like a very Vegas problem to us. But there is a solution. Once in a while, all you need is

someone who knows the place to show you around. That would be us. First things first - you've got to pick an adventure. Or two or three.

Do you want to explore the outdoors? See the Grand Canyon? View the sparkling city from high above? Or travel the Strip on unique three-

wheeled scooters? You're not alone. And Las Vegas tours offer visitors unforgettable ways to explore this magnificent city - in addition to

spectacular day trips that include trips to United States national parks.

If you think you've been to Vegas, you haven't seen anything yet. A Las Vegas tour allows you to zip, zoom and fly across this city for a

unique perspective and an even better story. Anyone can take his/her photo near the sparkling "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign. But you could

fly over it. Your tour bus could stop there on the way to the Valley of Fire. Pink trucks, blue scooters and choppers offer a nontraditional

glimpse of Vegas. Need a Jet Ski for Lake Mead? Rebel Adventure Tours has you covered. Brought your camera? Call Adventure Photo Tours

and say "cheese."

You don't have to be adventurous to want to explore the city in a new way. Open-top double-decker buses let you take in the sights from

one end of the Strip to the other. Elevated from the Strip, the view is dramatically different and you'll save your feet for some dancing later

in the night. It's a great way to get your bearings and make a must-see, must-do, must-visit list. Don't get crazy: You can't see it all. But you

can make a dent in your list and have something to look forward to on your next trip out.

Rethink what you know about this town and let the Las Vegas tour operators show you how.
