The IFC, as cooperate agency, has been supporting the work of
ASORLAC since its creation. With a view to streamline and simplify
processes in order to improve the efficiency of business records, taking
advantage of the position that the registry authorities have in each of
our countries.
We are aware that Latin America has the potentialto become an example to the world in regards toovercoming barriers in these topics, expectingbetter results for the region in next year's “DoingBusiness Report”.
By measuring through quantitative indicators on businessregulations, compared across 189 economies worldwide,the report ranks them on the “ease of doing business”index.
One of the main objectives of Asorlac is tostrengthen and harness the potential ofthe registry authorities role, in order toinfluence policy reforms and publicpolicies in each Latin American country.
This leads to better results in the areasevaluated as determinants, by the report,for the ease of doing business.

ASORLAC on behalf of the LatinAmerican and Caribbean region, asone of the four worldwide registryorganisations, participated activelyin the International BusinessRegisters Survey 2015. It was a partof the work team in charge ofmaking links between AsorlacMembers and also all the Spanishspeakers respondents.

We are still working on theproject that seeks to provideinteroperability amongnational registry authoritiesof the participating countries.
The purpose is create asearch tool to identifycompanies registered indifferent jurisdictions in LatinAmerica and the Caribbean.

Similar to EBR - "European BusinessRegistry" , it plans to have a singleportal connecting various registryauthorities in different countries ofthe region, which will supplystandardized, accountable and officialinformation on Latin American andCaribbean companies, their activity,location, and legal nature.

The Regional Public Goods Initiative
ASORLAC has presented the Latin American Business Register Portalproject to IDB, as a public good in the form of The Regional Public GoodsInitiative.
Regional Public Good:
The free access to official Latin American companies information,that is reliable, up to date, in a common language, supplied by therespective registry authorities, which will be available to any entity,company or citizen. It will provide security in internationaloperations to the economic actors, regardless of their size andeconomic power.
